Welcome to Riverstone
Riverstone Academy is a tuition-free public elementary school located on the Pueblo County Mesa, serving students in grades K–5. Our unique program blends strong academics with classical values, hands-on trade-based learning, and a Christian foundation to help students grow in both knowledge and character. With a focus on creativity, problem-solving, virtue, and moral development, Riverstone offers a well-rounded, values-driven education that equips young learners for lifelong success—all at no cost to families.

Opening its doors in Fall 2025, Riverstone Academy’s campus in Pueblo Mesa features modern classrooms alongside large garage bays converted into functional workshop spaces—creating a unique environment that supports both academic excellence and hands-on, trade-based learning.
Riverstone Academy is developed in partnership with Forging Education and operates as a tuition-free public contract school under Education reEnvisioned BOCES. Distinct from Forging Education’s private and enrichment programs, Riverstone offers a unique blend of academic excellence, classical values, and hands-on learning in an accessible public school setting.
Classroom Environment
Riverstone Academy offers a supportive and engaging classroom environment with small class sizes—typically around 15 students per class. This allows for individualized attention and a hands-on approach to learning that meets students where they are. Our classrooms promote curiosity, collaboration, and confidence as students actively participate in their educational journey.

Trade Focused Electives
Riverstone Academy introduces students to real-world skills through engaging, age-appropriate activities in carpentry, mechanics, LEGO-based architecture and robotics, and cloth/clothing construction. These hands-on experiences foster creativity, confidence, and a strong foundation in practical problem-solving.
